Competitiveness of Upper Austria as a Manufacturing Location

Based on extensive secondary data, this study examines the competitiveness of Upper Austria as a manufacturing location compared to other highly developed, goods-oriented regions in Europe. The results show that Upper Austria continues to hold a leading position in key indicators such as gross regional product, labour productivity, and R&D activities, while structural challenges persist, such as start-up dynamics, export diversification, and the integration of public research.
