Rural Development Programme for 2000 to 2006. Selected Economic Consequences
The Rural Development Programme – the "second pillar" of CAP – is the most important programme in support of Austrian farming. In the course of its evaluation, WIFO investigates how its individual measures are harmonised with each others. A statistical evaluation shows that the programme gives particular support to regions that are disadvantaged due to locational factors. A comparison of organic and conventional operations finds that depending on the perspective chosen (dynamic or static), one system is superior to the other and vice versa.
