Obstacles to Fundraising for Venture Capital Funds

Investment into Austrian venture capital funds lags behind comparable numbers at the European level. A survey among institutional investors revealed the major obstacles to fundraising in Austria: lacking information on expected yields and associated standard deviations, intransparency of funds, and institutional reasons, e.g., investment guidelines by supervisory authorities or missing legal basis for newly established funds.
