Just-Transition - a Macro-Economic Assessment
The transformation of the economy towards climate neutrality and sustainability has far-reaching consequences for product markets, labour markets and people's lives. In the course of the just transition process, the aim is to identify the social impacts of structural changes on affected groups – countries, regions, industries, workers and consumers – together with those involved and affected. Its aim is to work out how this process of change can be shaped in an equitable manner. This report develops the scientific basis for this process. The economic literature with a focus on Austria is analysed with regard to the above-mentioned questions. The results of an input-output analysis and a workshop attended by experts from environmental and labour market policy show the sectoral impacts in their regional context.
