Sustainable Management of Water Resources in North-eastern Austria

This project examines the economic effects that can be expected from a project to construct infrastructure for large-scale irrigation in north-eastern Austria. The motive for this project is adaptation to climate change. Precipitation will decrease in the study region, leading to water shortages and a significant reduction in crop yields. An irrigation project is intended to help secure the water supply. The economic assessment involves a cost-benefit analysis in which the benefit assessment focuses solely on tangible results.
