Stefan Schiman is Senior Economist at WIFO and has been working in the Research Group "Macroeconomics and European Economic
Policy" since 2012, mainly in the field of business cycle monitoring and forecasting. Since 2015 he has also been a lecturer
on business cycle analysis at the University of Applied Sciences of bfi Vienna. In the field of academic business cycle research,
his focus is on the application and development of VAR models to labour market and monetary policy issues. Another area of
expertise is the modelling of long-term scenarios of the public budget. His work in this field goes back to his appointment
as an expert in the Economic Policy Department at the Federal Ministry of Finance between 2009 and 2012. The current doctoral
studies at WU Vienna were preceded by studies in Economics at the Universities of Maastricht (Master) and of Graz (Bakkalaureus).2018,
