Der Gesamtbarwert der unternehmensbezogenen Wirtschaftsf\u00f6rderung des Bundes ging im Zeitraum 1993 bis 1996 um 35,5% zur\u00fcck; im wesentlichen war dies auf die Budgetrestriktionen des Bundes und die wettbewerbsrechtlichen Vorgaben der EU zur\u00fcckzuf\u00fchren. Auf eine grundlegende Neugestaltung der \u00f6sterreichischen Wirtschaftsf\u00f6rderung anl\u00e4\u00dflich des EU-Beitritts wurde verzichtet und lediglich partiell die erforderlichen Anpassungen an das neue Umfeld vorgenommen. Eine umfassende Struktur- und Organisationsreform mit der Festlegung von F\u00f6rderungsschwerpunkten k\u00f6nnte beachtliche Effizienzreserven mobilisieren. Die \"intelligente\" Wirtschaftsf\u00f6rderung der Zukunft wird zu einem wesentlichen Teil in Struktur- und Standortf\u00f6rderung bestehen, die traditionelle Unternehmensf\u00f6rderung wird in den Hintergrund treten. Zus\u00e4tzliche Dynamik erh\u00e4lt die Diskussion um eine Neugestaltung der \u00f6sterreichischen F\u00f6rderungslandschaft durch die Reformdiskussion auf europ\u00e4ischer Ebene vor dem Hintergrund der Osterweiterung der EU. Eine Umsetzung der Vorschl\u00e4ge der Agenda 2000 w\u00fcrde \u00d6sterreich im Zeitraum 2000 bis 2006 mit einem Verlust an EU-F\u00f6rdermitteln von 4,81 Mrd. S (350 Mill.
