The long-standing lag in productivity vis-\u00e0-vis Germany may now be closed. The pace of investment spending is expected to accelerate from +9 percent (1989, at current prices) to +14 percent to attain an annual figure of AS 61 billion . The construction industry also envisages a marked increase in capital formation despite the recent slowdown in output growth.
