Eurostat measures and evaluates achievements towards these goals on the basis of indicators in an annual monitoring process. Based on the current Eurostat report, this Research Brief examines the development of SDG 8 for Austria using the WIFO Economic Outlook of June 2022 and newly developed nowcasting models. This article provides an early assessment of target achievement for the year 2022. As a result of the recovery from the COVID-19-related slump, the majority of the economic indicators within SDG 8 are developing towards target achievement. Progress can also be expected towards a lower raw material consumption.
