A moderate recovery of the economy cannot be expected until 2016. Unemployment rose sharply throughout the country, despite a small increase in the number of employed people in all Austrian L\u00e4nder. Growth rates in the construction, retail and tourism industries were regionally heterogeneous: output declined in the construction industry in western regions, while production increased in the eastern and the western parts of the country. On the other hand, sales in the retail industry increased above-average in the western regions.
