The Austrian labour market is examined relative to the other 26 EU countries in the following areas: general performance of the labour market, labour force participation of different groups of people, risks of exclusion on the labour market, distribution of earned income and redistribution by the welfare state. In four out of five dimensions, Austria performs better than the average of the countries in the comparison, and in two dimensions it is among the leaders.
