However, both the risk of becoming unemployed and the chance of returning to employment from unemployment are influenced by the hiring and firing behaviour of companies. Against this background, this \"Enterprise Monitor Unemployment\" systematically monitors the role of companies in combating unemployment: How often do they hire unemployed persons and thereby provide them with long-term employment prospects? How often do employed persons drift into unemployment? To what extent do firms employ older workers? To what extent do they involve the Public Employment Service in recruiting and filling vacancies? The study provides meaningful indicators for monitoring.
