About two thirds of the dependent active employees (66.2 percent; about 2.8 million persons) and thus the majority are still stable employed, i.e., employed over the entire calendar year. However, the proportion of unstable employees has risen significantly in recent decades. Among employees without Austrian citizenship the figure has risen up to 55.3 percent. Unstable employees have also suffered real wage losses in the past 1.5 decades.
