The nominal revenues of the 39 spas analysed amounted to around 432 million \u20ac in 2019. The businesses concerned employed an annual average of around 5,400 persons in 2019, which corresponds to 4,600 full-time equivalents according to survey and projection data. According to a (conservative) estimate, thermal spa tourism in Austria is responsible for a value added of around 1.2 billion \u20ac in 2019, directly, indirectly and induced, and for an employment contribution of around 17,700 persons (based on full-time equivalents).
