Ongoing economic monitoring and reporting is highly relevant in order to provide retailers and the interested public with up-to-date data and analyses. The current report shows that the recent cooling of the international and domestic economy is also reflected in the retail trade sector. In the non-food sector in particular, business was subdued at the beginning of the year. The continuing high price increases weighed on private consumption.
