Due to the close interaction of agriculture with the natural environment and as a formative factor of the landscape, the functions and services extend beyond the supply of food, agricultural raw materials. Agriculture shapes society, but it is also influenced by it, since ultimately what is produced is what is demanded. What goods are produced depends to a large extent on the technology available on the market and the value chains that form the bridge between consumers and agriculture. The number of people, their willingness to pay and preferences, and their influence on political decision-making processes are the most formative factors for the future of agriculture.
