The report quantifies direct, indirect, and induced value-added effects across countries and sectors, and tracks how these effects have evolved alongside major structural changes in global trade. Key findings show that while CERN procurement is overwhelmingly awarded to firms from Member States, the associated economic benefits are substantially more internationalised once global value chains are taken into account. Indirect and induced effects extend well beyond CERN membership, reflecting increasing global integration and the growing role of upstream suppliers, most notably in East Asia.
