Among other things, there is still a lag in the use of ultra-fast broadband internet, which is particularly evident in the society dimension, where Austria continues to lag behind the EU average. Nevertheless, the proportion of people who had used artificial intelligence (AI) in the three months prior to the survey has increased significantly in Austria within a year. The use of AI for professional purposes has increased as well, especially among higher-skilled people, who are more likely to consider AI useful for their own profession. In contrast, low-skilled workers use AI tools less frequently. So far, very few of the employees surveyed fear being replaced by AI.
