They accounted for 42.5 percent of all working hours in Vienna and generated 33.5 percent of the total wages and an estimated 35 percent of value added. They consistently report higher levels of work-related physical and psychological strain and lower job satisfaction than employees without a migration background and are more often affected by discrimination. Gender differences among employees with a migration background are greater in many indicators than among employees without a migration background.
