For example, the use of ultra-fast broadband internet is still lagging. In contrast, Austria has recently seen dynamic growth in the use of artificial intelligence (AI). In 2024, around one in five companies were using at least one AI application, with the usage rate doubling compared to the previous year. Many of the companies using AI are larger companies with at least 250 employees. A sectoral analysis shows that the share of companies using AI is higher in the service sector, particularly in the information and communication industry.
