In order to do justice to this comprehensive claim, we pursue a multi-layered approach: we analyse the macroeconomic causes of the changing correlations between inflation and foreign trade, examine the role of market openness and exchange rates, provide evidence at company and product level and discuss the effectiveness of economic policy measures.
