The resulting direct and indirect effects of tourism accounted for 24.11 billion \u20ac (+4.3 percent compared to 2014) and contributed 7.1 percent to the overall economy. Both, tourism consumption and non-tourism expenditures on leisure consumption by residents, resulted in total value-added effects of 45.75 billion \u20ac in 2015 (+3.7 percent from previous year) and in a contribution to GDP of 13.5 percent (+0.1 percentage point). After stagnating over the last few years, Austria's real tourism receipts from international travel (tourism exports) increased by 4.2 percent in 2015. Also revenues from domestic tourism recovered in real terms for the first time since 2009, by 2.2 percent. In total, real tourism receipts rose by 3.7 percent after a slight decrease in 2013 and 2014. Austria's market share in nominal tourism exports of the EU 15 increased again in 2015, after the last gain in 2009.
