The employment-to-population ratio is high. Unemployment, income inequality, and at-risk-of-poverty rate are at a rather low level. However, while employment stability is high for the core workforce, there is evidence of segmentation as well as persistent unemployment and low-wage employment among some groups of the Austrian labour market. Labour market integration differs greatly by gender, age, education, health status and country of origin.
