Signs of a marked slowdown in growth are emerging notably in Asia. Developments in Austria are increasingly determined by the euro crisis. In the first quarter of 2012, overall economic output still expanded by 0.5 percent compared with the previous period, whereas in the second quarter it rose by a mere 0.1 percent. The subdued economic momentum was apparent in almost all demand categories.
