A pay-as-you-go system ensures that employees get salaries differentiated by the scope and years of their service while employers pay in a uniform hourly rate for each employee. This system enables employees to flexibly design their working hours within the life cycle, e.g., reconciling job and family without impairing career opportunities. As a result, the sector shows an above-average rate of part-time jobs and good prospects for older workers to continue to work in their job.
