These key indicators are designed to provide transparent and easily accessible information to an economically interested public of developments in Austria that are of relevance to the issue of climate change. With its new effort, WIFO highlights the urgent need for a reversal of greenhouse gas emissions, i.e., the need to decarbonise the energy system in order to protect the climate. As of this issue, the climate- and energy-relevant key indicators will be updated and published in annual intervals. In addition, each issue will provide a more in-depth discussion of a subject of current interest to environmental economy.
