The overall expansion can be mainly attributed to the manufacturers of investment goods and motor vehicles. In 2008, manufacturing firms will also raise investment in hardware (by 24.6 percent). However, investment in software is expected to decrease. In addition, manufacturing firms have increased investment in research and development (+11.0 percent) and investment for environmental protection (+32.1 percent).
