WIFO has been calculating the official quarterly national accounts for Austria for many years. 30 days after the end of a quarter, a flash estimate based on a rudimentary data set is published on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Finance. These data are already transmitted to Eurostat, the Oesterreichische Nationalbank, Statistics Austria and the Federal Ministry of Finance the day before. Quarterly data is subjected to revision for the most recent year for which official annual data is not yet published by Statistics Austria. 60 days after the end of a quarter, the results of the more comprehensive regular quarterly national accounts are then published on behalf of Statistics Austria. The day before publication, data are transmitted to Statistics Austria and the Oesterreichische Nationalbank.
