In der oberösterreichischen Volkswirtschaft nimmt der Tourismus eine bedeutende Stellung ein: Gemäß dem von Statistik Austria
und WIFO entwickelten regionalen Tourismus-Satellitenkonto für Oberösterreich erreichten die Gesamtausgaben für Urlaubs- und
Geschäftsreisen, Verwandten- und Bekanntenbesuche sowie Aufenthalte in Wochenendhäusern und Zweitwohnungen im Jahr 2010 insgesamt
3,07 Mrd. € (+2,9%). Davon entfielen 73,2% auf inländische und 26,4% auf ausländische Reisende sowie 0,4% auf die Ausgaben
im Zuge von Aufenthalten in Wochenendhäusern bzw. an Zweitwohnsitzen. Das Volumen der direkten Wertschöpfungseffekte des Tourismus
in Oberösterreich betrug 1,49 Mrd. € (+2,7%), was rein rechnerisch einem Anteil am Bruttoregionalprodukt von 3,1% entspricht.
Der Beitrag der direkten und indirekten Wertschöpfung des Tourismus zur oberösterreichischen Gesamtwirtschaft erreichte 2010
5,6%.

A Tourism Satellite Account for Upper Austria. Economic Correlations, Methods and Key Results for 2010
Tourism is important for the Upper Austrian regional economy: according to the regional tourism satellite account for Upper
Austria developed by Statistics Austria and WIFO, expenditures on holiday and business trips, visits with relatives and friends
and stays at weekend houses and second homes amounted to altogether € 3.07 billion (+2.9 percent) in 2010. Of this sum, 73.2
percent was spent by domestic travellers and 26.4 percent by foreign travellers. The remaining 0.4 percent was spent on stays
in weekend houses and second homes. The direct value-added effects of tourism in Upper Austria amounted to € 1.49 billion
(+2.7 percent), corresponding to 3.1 percent of the gross regional product. In terms of direct and indirect value added, tourism
contributed 5.6 percent to the overall economy in Upper Austria in 2010.
