WIFO-Konjunkturtest

The WIFO-Konjunkturtest (business cycle survey) is a monthly survey of Austrian companies on their economic situation and its development in the coming months. The results of the WIFO-Konjunkturtest help to reliably assess the economic development in Austria at an early stage. The WIFO-Konjunkturtest has been conducted since 1954 and has been part of the "Joint Harmonised EU Programme of Business and Consumer Surveys" since 1996.

Liquidity and Countermeasures in the COVID-19 Crisis. Results of the Third Special Survey on the COVID-19 Crisis as Part of the WIFO-Konjunkturtest of August 2020
Most of the surveyed companies have reacted to the COVID-19 crisis with measures and used governmental support. Liquidity assessments have improved compared to early summer. However, around 16 percent of all companies surveyed still expect to face financial distress if the business situation does not improve significantly in the coming months. Of the support measures, COVID short-time work is used by many companies and is seen as a helpful measure.
