19.02.2021

"Showing Ways Out of the Crisis"

The latest annual report of the Austrian Institute of Economic Research was published on 19 February 2020 and is now also available in digital form (in German). In 2020, WIFO analyzed the effects of the COVID-19 crisis, made proposals for economic policy measures and pointed out ways out of the crisis.

"In 2020, WIFO brought its expertise into play and underlined its position as Austria's top address for economic analyses and evidence-based policy advice", said the Executive Board consisting of Harald Mahrer, Renate Anderl and Ingrid Kubin in a joint foreword. By providing sound data and analysis at very short notice and in a flexible manner, factual bases for decision-making could be created to address the socio-economic challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"This newly designed report provides insights into a particularly challenging year and not only highlights the quality and diversity of our economic expertise, but also reflects the public value of our numerous activities and publications", said WIFO Director Christoph Badelt and his deputy Ulrike Famira-Mühlberger at the presentation of the report.

The digital version of the report (in German) is available in two downloadable formats:
