The meeting focused on the exchange of experience. Both institutes regularly produce economic forecasts that are of great importance for economic and financial policy in their respective countries. In addition, both institutes regularly carry out analyses on various issues of economic development.
In the field of forecasting, dynamic factor models, estimates of production potential, business surveys and tax estimates were discussed. Further research topics in the presentations included sectoral and regional modelling, the use of eco-taxes to achieve climate goals and the integration of income and wealth distribution in national accounts and macroeconomic modelling of distribution effects.
