  • Gerhard Streicher is Senior Economist at WIFO and has been working in the Research Group "Regional Economics and Spatial Analysis" since 2013. His research focusses on multiregional input-output modelling. The regional spectrum of the ADAGIO model family ranges from the level of Austrian districts to a 67-region world model. Projects that Gerhard Streicher has worked on in recent years range from impact studies for companies and funding agencies to the potential effects of expansion measures in Danube navigation or the bio-based economy to the economic effects of customs duties and sanctions in foreign trade. He was a lecturer in Economics at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, his alma mater: Gerhard Streicher studied Economics at the University of Vienna and Water Management at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, where he also wrote his dissertation in 2006. After a lengthy excursion into experimental hydraulic engineering, his professional career as an economist took him via Joanneum Research to WIFO, which he joined 2011. His journal publications have appeared in, among others, Economic Systems Research, Environmental and Resource Economics or Science and Public Policy.
