Die österreichische Baustoffindustrie hat mit einem Umsatz von 6,1 Mrd. € und rund 32.500 Beschäftigten (2007) große Bedeutung
innerhalb der gesamten Sachgütererzeugung. Die vorliegende Studie analysiert ihre aktuelle wirtschaftliche Lage sowie die
kurz- und mittelfristigen Zukunftsperspektiven. Anhand ausgewählter Kennzahlen wird die Entwicklung der Branche seit 1995
dargestellt. Auf dieser empirischen Grundlage baut eine Prognose für das Jahr 2009 sowie für die Periode 2010 bis 2013 auf.

Presence and Future of the Construction Materials Industry in Austria
With sales of € 6.1 billion and about 32,500 employees (2007), the Austrian construction materials industry is of critical
importance within the manufacturing sector. The study analyses its current economic situation and its short- to medium-run
perspectives. Using selected parameters, the study maps the development of the segment since 1995. Using this empirical basis,
a forecast is developed for 2009 and for the period of 2010–2013.
