Die Wirtschaftsstruktur der grenzüberschreitenden Region Centrope verändert sich im Zuge der fortschreitenden Arbeitsteilung
und der Überwindung der die Region kennzeichnenden Entwicklungsunterschiede rasch. Das WIFO sichtet in diesem Projekt den
Wandel der Sektorstruktur im grenzüberschreitenden Wirtschaftsraum und analysiert Geschwindigkeit und Richtung dieses Strukturwandels.
Unter dem Aspekt grenzüberschreitender Kooperation und Koordination stehen dabei mögliche Clusterbildungen im Vordergrund.
Szenarien zur künftigen sektoralen Spezialisierung auf regionaler Ebene vervollständigen das Projekt.

Changing Sectoral Structure in the Centrope Central European Region
In Centrope, the Central European region, the economic structure is rapidly changing in response to the ongoing division of
labour and successful efforts to overcome the development gap characterising this region. Within the scope of this project,
WIFO investigates the change in the sectoral structure in the cross-border region and analyses its speed and direction. Seen
from the aspects of cross-border cooperation and coordination, the focus is on possible cluster formations. Scenarios for
a future sectoral specialisation at regional level round off the project.
