Die Studie untersucht die Voraussetzungen und die Entwicklung des grenzüberschreitenden Wirtschaftsraums Wien–Bratislava–Györ
aus ökonomischer Perspektive. Dafür werden Indikatoren herangezogen, welche die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit von Centrope innerhalb
der EU messen. In einem zweiten Schritt werden die Bestimmungsgründe der regionalen Wettbewerbsfähigkeit herausgearbeitet.
Schließlich werden mit Methoden der räumlichen Ökonometrie grenzüberschreitende funktionale Beziehungen und räumliche Spill-over-Effekte
analysiert.

The Centrope Central European Region: Taking Stock of a Business Region
The study investigates from an economic perspective the prerequisites and development of the border-crossing business region
Centrope extending between Vienna, Bratislava and Györ. For this purpose it uses indicators to measure Centrope's competitiveness
within the EU. In a second step, it examines the factors determining regional competitiveness, before analysing border-crossing
functional relations and spatial spillover effects by methods of spatial econometrics.
